For the Love of Wedding Donuts

WHERE DID ALL THE IMAGES GO?
We closed an email account and transferred our blog to the new one. In the world of technology, this meant that images from the old account were not transferred. If this sounds confusing, it really isn't, but there's no better way to write it. We're sorry that you are seeing giant exclamation marks. It sucks.

Due to this faux pas, we were propelled to give our blog some extra OOOMPH. That meant changing to Wordpress... so yeah... we're on wordpress now. Now what I mean, jelly bean?
OUR BLOG HAS MOVED TO: http://lefestinevents.wordpress.com/

Let’s talk about something sacred to me, and perhaps it is sacred to you too. It makes me happy. It is sexy, especially when it’s hot and my goodness, no matter how guilty it makes me feel after indulging in it – I just can’t stop after one.

Doughnuts, or as Homer Simpson says, “mmmmmmm…. doughnuts.”

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, I adore thee.

More than likely it’s the pregnancy hormones that are causing me to write this article about these fluffy little clouds of heaven, but allow me to incorporate the baby brain for the betterment of weddings.

While scouring the net, Pinning like a mad woman, I started thinking about whimsical wedding cakes and how fun it would be to serve doughnuts on a dessert table or as “cake”. Actually, now that I think about it, I did a wedding a couple of years ago where donut (see I incorporated the other spelling here) holes were served.

Anyway, I came to a conclusion – a personal opinion. Doughnuts, though simply frikkin’ AWESOME are better presented exactly as they are – whimsical and comforting. These little bites of deep fried deliciousness aren’t pretentious, they don’t need no stinkin’ tiers or ornate embellishments.

My thoughts and metaphor - why try to embroider a Snuggie when it is what it is?

Doughnuts as "Cake"

A doughnut candelabra would haveto be manned by the caterer - oh my. Pass.

Makes for a sweet picture and I've got to admit, this is pretty charming.

NOT my cup of tea.

I LOVE how doughnuts are presented here.

These tiered market baskets are perfect and make for a mod "doughnut cake".
Serve donut holes in coned doilies - don't forget to line doilies up with parchment paper!

Hot cocoa and mini doughnuts, sign me up!

This is a pretty "cake", something which I really wouldn't expect or want guests to eat. Place these on the table with other donuts to serve friends and family.

Doughnuts + fruit baskets = 'NUFF SAID!

Simplicity with all of the class of a silver tray and server.

Another take on doughnuts and hot cocoa.

Pretty right? These would be great served to each guest as dessert... without the dessert bar.

If you want the ultimate COOL factor in your wedding and incorporate doughnuts, look no further and check out Fry Girl Inc based in Los Angeles. They’ll come to your event with either their fry cart or food truck. They don't stop at just doughnuts either!
